I decided to spoil myself with a rather extravagant Christmas Present this year:
The new 11″ Macbook Air. I’m still in the process of discovering all the ins and outs of this little powerhouse so in the meantime feel free to have a read of what TUAW think of it.
Looks like Apple’s latest phone offering is even more popular than they expected. After suffering numerous issues with AT&T’s pre ordering systems yesterday customers are now being told that pre-orders have been suspended and new orders will not be accepted until after the release date.
Apple’s PR statement (which first appeared on Engadget):
- Yesterday Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple’s new iPhone 4. It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions. Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration. We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock.
All I have to add is that they’d better not delay the Australian release because of US demand – like they did with the iPad.
The 10.6.4 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It includes Safari 5 and general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes that:
- resolve an issue that causes the keyboard or trackpad to become unresponsive
- resolve an issue that may prevent some Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications from opening
- address issues copying, renaming, or deleting files on SMB file servers
- improve reliability of VPN connections
- resolve a playback issue in DVD Player when using Good Quality deinterlacing
- resolve an issue editing photos with iPhoto or Aperture in full screen view
- improve compatibility with some braille displays
